Content Editor
Turn a keyword into an SEO content brief, then write against it. RankNibbler analyses the pages already ranking and hands you the terms to use, a recommended heading structure, the questions people ask and a word-count target — then a built-in editor scores your draft live as you write, with an AI Writer that can draft it for you section by section.
A brief built from what already ranks
Enter the keyword you want to win, pick the content type, country and language, and RankNibbler studies the top pages for that term. The Competing pages section lists them with their content score, word count, heading count and referring domains, and you can toggle any out to refine the recommended ranges. From that set it derives a recommended word count, heading count and paragraph count — the shape of a page that competes.
Terms, headings and the questions to answer
The Terms to use section gives you the words the ranking pages share, grouped and ready to track as you write. The Heading structure recommends an outline you can adopt or reorder, with competitor headings on hand for reference. And the Questions section pulls the things people actually ask about the topic from the search results, so you cover the angles readers want answered.
An editor that scores as you write
Write in the built-in editor and a Content Score updates in real time: how well your draft covers the brief, weighted 40% term coverage, 40% hitting the word target and 20% headings, measured against the strongest competing page. A Brief Progress readout tracks words and headings, and turning on Highlight terms shows your target terms lit up in the draft so you can see coverage at a glance. The Improvements tab keeps a running checklist of what's left to add.
Let the AI Writer draft it
Starting from a blank page is the slow part. The AI Writer can draft the article section by section — the recommended way to keep control of each part — or generate a full first draft in one click. Pick a tone, and the draft lands in the editor already shaped around the brief, ready for you to tighten. You can also paste the brief's heading structure and write under each one yourself.
Metadata, schema and existing pages
The brief suggests an SEO title, meta description and slug with a search preview, so the snippet is sorted before you publish, and a Schema builder generates JSON-LD structured data to copy or insert. Prefer to improve a page you already have? Point the editor at an existing article URL and it scores that content against the same brief, showing exactly which terms and headings are missing. Pair it with the AI Keyword Overview to choose the keyword and the TF*IDF Tool to go deeper on term gaps.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Content Editor do?
It turns a keyword into a content brief, then helps you write against it. The brief covers the terms to use, a recommended heading structure, the questions people ask, recommended word and heading counts, the competing pages it analysed and metadata suggestions. The editor then scores your draft live as you write.
What is in the content brief?
The competing pages ranking for your keyword with their content score and word count, recommended word, heading and paragraph ranges drawn from them, the terms to use, a recommended heading outline, the questions people ask, suggested links, and a title, meta description and slug with a search preview.
What is the Content Score?
A live 0–100 score of how well your draft covers the brief, weighted 40% term coverage, 40% hitting the word target and 20% heading coverage, measured against the strongest competing page. It updates as you write, with an Improvements checklist showing what's left to add.
Can it write the article for me?
Yes. The AI Writer can draft the article section by section, which is the recommended way to keep control, or generate a full first draft in one click. You pick a tone, and everything lands in the editor for you to refine against the brief.
Can I optimise an existing page instead of starting fresh?
Yes. As well as writing a new brief and article, you can point the editor at an existing article URL to optimise content you already have, scoring it against the same brief and showing exactly which terms and headings are missing.
Does it handle metadata and schema?
Yes. The brief suggests an SEO title, meta description and URL slug with a search preview, and the editor includes a schema builder that generates JSON-LD structured data you can copy or insert into the page.
Are my drafts saved?
Yes. Both the brief settings and your article save automatically as you work, so you can close the tab and pick up exactly where you left off. Usage limits apply by plan.
